Dust and Odour Control

Breathing in clean, fresh air is an indicator of quality of life.
Irrespective of the nature of operation, GES has the capability to undertake your site-specific dust generation problems efficiently and cost-effectively.
An important problem of air pollution is the control of objectionable Odours, which are released into the atmosphere from industrial, commercial and municipal operations. Source control is the most effective way of abating Odour. Odor nuisance from an industrial development may occur as a result of a single Odourant or more commonly, particularly for waste management facilities, from the generation of a mixture of Odourous compounds. The generation and control of Odours is rapidly becoming a key concern for local residents, regulators and developers with regard to waste management facilities.
The issue of Odour nuisance is complicated by the highly subjective nature of Odours and is dependent on the sensitivity of individuals to Odours.
GES personnel have considerable experience in undertaking Odour nuisance assessments of a wide range of industrial facilities that have the potential to generate Odours including:
landfill sites; energy from waste plants; waste transfer stations and civic amenity sites; composting facilities; wastewater and sewage treatment plants
GES is able to offer a full range of services to advise operators and developers of waste management and other Odourous developments, including:
» Odor monitoring (hydrogen sulphide mapping and olfactometry);
» Predictive dispersion modeling;
» Recommendations for the control and management of Odours.
» Air-repair series- not for masking but combating foul Odours emanating from sewage, garbage, abattoirs, poultry, dairy and other animal / bird source Odours. A non-hazardous, non-poisonous solution with no unsolicited chemical after effects.
Odor impact assessment is increasingly being required for planning applications, nuisance investigations and to demonstrate compliance or effectiveness of Odour controls.
